Group Alumni

Dr. Hiroyuki Takenaka joined the Ping Group on July 31, 2020 as an Assistant Project Scientist. He has a wealth of postdoctoral experience including positions at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Carnegie Institution for Science, University of Pennsylvania, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He previously graduated with a PhD from the School of Science and Engineering at Meiji University.

Dr. Rafi Ullah joined the Ping Group on February 01, 2023. He has spent the past two years as a faculty member in the Department of Physics, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore, Pakistan, and previously graduated with a PhD from University of the Basque Country, Donostia-San Sebastain, Spain. Currently Rafi is a Staff Scientist in the Materials Science and Engineering department at UW-Madison.

Valentin joined the Ping Group on April 24, 2018. He graduated from UCSC with a B.S. in Physics and is now working on his Ph.D in Chemistry at UCSC.

Dr. Feng Wu joined the Ping Group on February 10, 2017 as a Postdoc and worked with us for two fruitful years before leaving in March 2019. Feng now works as a scientist in the quantum computing group at Alibaba. Inc., developing quantum computation technology. Contact: wufeng.works AT gmail.com

Dr. Junqing Xu joined the Ping Group on December 19, 2018. He spent the past year as a postdoc at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany and previously graduated with a PhD from the National Synchotron Radiation Laboratory at the University of Science and Technology of China. Currently Junqing Xu is a full professor in department of physics at Hefei University of Technology in China

Zizheng joined the Ping Group on Sep 1, 2022.

Shimin joined the Ping Group on October 7, 2020. She graduated from the South University of Science and Technology of China with a B.S. in Physics and is now working on her Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering at UW-Madison. She is currently working as a postdoc at Indiana University Bloomington.
