Group Alumni

Anikeya joined the Ping Group on August 27, 2018. After working with the group for a year as a junior specialist, Anikeya was accepted into the PhD program in the Material Science department at University of Southern California. Contact: aaditya AT ucsc.edu

Zihao joined the Ping Group on Nov 10, 2023. He graduated from Jilin University with a B.S. in Physics and is now working on his Ph.D in Chemistry at UW-Madison.

Mingpeng joined the Ping Group on January 17, 2018. He graduated from Tianjin University with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering. He is currently working on his Ph.D in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCSC and is primarily advised by Professor Yat Li. He has since began work as a Software Engineer at Microsoft.

Chunhao joined the Ping Group on August 13, 2018. He graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China with a B.S. in Applied Physics and is now working on his Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering at UW-Madison. He is currently working as a postdoc at Westlake University in China.

Dr. Mayank Gupta joined the Ping Group on Feb. 01, 2024. He graduated with a PhD in physics from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in India. He is currently working as a postdoc at Department of Physics, University of South Florida.

Remi joined the Ping Group on June 15, 2018. After working with the group for a year as a junior specialist, Remi was accepted into the PhD program in the Chemistry & Chemical Biology department at UC Merced.

Kejun joined the Ping Group on October 4, 2019. He previously obtained his M.S. in Applied Physics from the University of Tsukuba and his B.S. in Material Physics from the University of Science and Technology Beijing. He obtained his Ph.D in Physics from UCSC July 25th 2024 and is currently an engineer at Applied Optoelectronics Inc.

Bingzhang joined the Ping Group on October 1, 2016. He will graduate with a Ph.D in Chemistry at UCSC in the winter of 2020. He will begin postdoctoral work in January 2021, when he will begin researching at Northwestern University with Prof. Linsey Seitz.

Zack joined the Ping Group on April 20, 2018. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from UCSC in the spring of 2019. Zack moved on to become an R&D chemist at AnaSpec.

Tyler joined the Ping Group on August 8, 2016. He graduated with his Ph.D. in Physics in June 2021. He has since began work as a Software Engineer at Intel.
