Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Grieder, who successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on July 22, 2026!
During his time in the Ping Group, Andrew developed and implemented methods of coupled Machine-Learing + Tight-Binding nonadiabatic dynamics and first-principles methods for non-linear optic and optoelectronic properties. His research focused how structural symmetry breaking and chirality governs carrier transport, chiroptical responses, and the dynamics of spin and orbital angular momentum.
Andrew will continue his work at as a Postdoc. Best wishes Andrew!
